Your Back Went Out ...

It’s Monday morning. You had a weekend full of activities. You ran a 5K, coached the kid’s ball game in between doing yard work and picked up the relatives at the airport to boot. The alarm clock rings and BAM, you can’t get out of bed. Your back went out again for the second time this year. You swore that if this happened again you would do something about it. Except, it’s Monday morning and no one plans for a disaster like this. You have some tough decisions to make. You can go to the medicine cabinet and take the prescription from the last time this happened, you could call your primary if you even have health insurance or you could go to the ER and wait the 6 or 8 hours to get Tylenol 800 mg.

Survey Says...

Or you could pick door number 3 and call Pines Spine and Sport. Our office has been helping the community of Silver Lakes located in Pembroke Pines make those decisions since 1998. Getting health care should be easy, affordable and convenient. Pain doesn't have a time schedule and we understand that. Our office runs like a Swiss watch. We are organized, streamlined and efficient. Most new patients can be seen immediately and be on their way in 45 minutes. We accept all insurances and have x-ray as well as physical therapy and massage on site. You don’t have to get a referral from your primary, a note from your mother, or a presidential pardon to see us. Just pick up the phone and our live front desk person will be happy to schedule you.

Testimonial

I Started seeing Dr Kustin in March for numbness in my toes and lower back pain. Prior to that, I had been to my internist, who tested my blood, circulation, and sent me for a MRI. Nothing was wrong. I then went to a neurologist, who gave me more blood tests and gave me a nerve conductivity test. Nothing was wrong. I then came to see Dr. Kustin. He put me on a treatment of therapy, massage, exercise, and manipulation. I'm happy to say that it is May and I can feel my toes again and my back feels like new. I'm finally back to normal. Thank you Dr. Kustin, I don't know what else I would have done without you.

Questions and Answers From The Spinal Column

Q: I would like to visit a chiropractor however I am a bit concerned about something. I heard that once you go to the chiropractor you always have to continue.
-Signed, Future Patient

A: Dear Future,

The misconception of continuing to go to the chiropractor is one that has been perpetuated by the idea of maintenance care. The main objective of chiropractic adjustments are to help restore proper spinal biomechanics in order to alleviate pain and dysfunction. Any future adjustments after the alleviation of pain would be to help maintain proper structure as well as improve posture, performance and musculoskeletal efficiency. The frequency of regular chiropractic care should be based on lifestyle demands, as well as the degree of spinal deterioration (degenerative disc disease) and the patient's desire to remain pain free. That being said, the decision to continue with regular care is ultimately the patent's decision and not a result of getting adjusted in the first place. However, regular spinal care is very similar to brushing and flossing your teeth. It helps avoid possible back pain and acts as screening tool for disc disease and postural changes associated with aging.
